ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT

As commercial buildings account for 30% of the energy use in the U.S., AIM firmly believes manufacturers of building materials have a responsibility to provide energy-conserving as well as environmentally friendly products to the construction and building maintenance sector.

AIM as Environmental Innovator

As a member of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), AIM has done much to offer environmentally conscious solutions to our customers. Here are just a few of our contributions:

  • Recognizing that a cool roof is an energy-saving and money-saving roof, we offer highly reflective energy and radiant barrier coatings. Some of AIM’s coatings meet not only the US EPA/DOE and Cool Roof Rating Council requirements for energy efficiency, they can reduce energy usage by up to 40%.
  • AIM operates one of the largest fleet of tankers servicing the roofing and coating industry in the United States. This footing in bulk transportation service allows contractors to keep installation costs low and helps the environment by reducing the use of barrels and pails.
  • All of our coatings, mastics and roofing system adhesives are VOC-compliant and compatible with Federal, State, Ozone Transport Commission (OTC), Lake Michigan Air Directors Consortium (LADCO), California Air Quality District, and County requirements..
  • All of our asphalt products are produced with zero asbestos. AIM has never used asbestos as a raw material.

AIM Building Materials & The Environment

AIM proudly offers coatings and other products and systems that are classified by Underwriters Laboratories and are FM 4470 Class 1 approved. Our environmental stewardship is also reflected in our many building materials (both new construction and maintenance applications) which extend the life of roofs, thereby reducing the landfill use problem.
