Uses

AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator works by breathing new life into worn-out surfaces, reversing the effects of aging and damage. This product’s specially engineered rejuvenators penetrate deep within the asphalt, chemically revitalizing and safeguarding the asphalt binder. Once applied, these rejuvenators soften and revitalize the asphalt, actively binding with the aged binder, to restore flexibility and resilience. This process significantly extends the service life of asphalt assets.

While both seal coating and asphalt rejuvenation have their roles in pavement maintenance, asphalt rejuvenation emerges as the superior choice for long-term benefits, enhanced durability, sustainability, and overall cost-effectiveness. By focusing on restoring the essential properties of the asphalt binder, rejuvenation treatments provide a more comprehensive solution that significantly extends the life and performance of your pavement.

The aging of asphalt binders is the main cause of asphalt hardening, loss of viscoelastic consistency, fissuring, and cracking. Oxidation causes the pavement binder to become hard and brittle. Over time, asphalt surfaces deteriorate and eventually fail. The asphalt rejuvenation penetrates and treats the pavement from within. This comprehensive approach addresses both the surface and underlying layers, ensuring a more thorough and effective maintenance solution.

Description

AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator is a treatment designed to restore the original properties of the asphalt binder within the pavement. This product is designed to renew the essential properties of aged asphalt with unmatched efficiency and environmental responsibility. This process helps to rejuvenate the flexibility and durability of the asphalt, extending its lifespan and improving overall performance.

While both asphalt rejuvenator and seal coat are used for pavement maintenance, a key difference is that a rejuvenation penetrates deep into the asphalt to restore its flexibility and properties, essentially “rejuvenating” the aging asphalt, while a seal coat primarily sits on the surface providing a protective layer against water and UV damage, but does not significantly restore the asphalt itself; making rejuvenation a more comprehensive and long-term solution compared to a seal coat.

AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator is the combination of a proprietary polymer and a non-food chain bio-based material — Tall Oil Fatty Acid (TOFA). Derived from sustainable sources, particularly the liquid rosin of coniferous pine trees, TOFA is the cornerstone of our rejuvenation process.

AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator offers unmatched results without compromising on environmental responsibility, with features such as: non-hazardous; built upon water-based chemistry; zero VOC emissions; solvent-free; and fast-drying, preventing any tracking issues

Specifications

COLOR and SIZING: AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator is available in black, which not only restores but also enhances the visual appeal of the asphalt pavement. This ensures that the pavement retains its deep, rich color, giving it a fresh and well-maintained look.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMENT: AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator not only enhances the durability of asphalt surfaces but also contributes to sustainability. By improving the chemical composition of the asphalt binder in the upper pavement layer, it increases the overall durability of the pavement. This approach not only extends the pavement’s lifespan but also reduces the need for frequent replacements, conserving resources and reducing environmental impact. AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator is a sustainable choice that promotes long-term infrastructure health while minimizing the environmental footprint associated with pavement maintenance.

Application

AIM SP-900 Asphalt Rejuvenator should be applied to pavements before they begin to show the detrimental signs of age.

The surface must be clean and dry with a surface temperature of 50°F (10°C) or above.

Material can be applied manually using a simple roller-brush. Depending on condition and porosity of the asphalt surface, application rate can vary between 100 – 150 square feet per gallon.

Drying time depends upon humidity and other environmental conditions. Typical drying time is 4 to 8 hours.

CLEAN UP: Clean wet coating with soap and water. Dry coating may be removed with mineral spirits. Use care when handling solvents.

STORAGE: Keep from freezing
